Bye

On our Way

Gerry disconnects the computer tomorrow and we leave Saturday. Finally. We have said good bye to all the children and grandchildren once, twice, and even 3 times with some. So precious the hugs. All individual and special, like signitures pasted on our hearts.

Gerry's brother died Tuesday just after we were there to visit. A special time and we were very grateful to be there with him and his family. The funeral is on the 6th. We leave the MTC on the 5th. Gerry will fly home for 1 day and I will wait for him there at the MTC (Mission Training Center) until he returns for me and we leave for Michigan. It all has fallen into place.

We were set apart on Tuesday evening. A beautiful interview with our Stake President and beautiful blessings. A full and very significant day Tuesday. We were pretty overwhelmed emotionally and grateful for the whole day for all the obvious reasons. HF is so very kind and aware and able to do so many things. His love for us and our family was very evident all day.

Memories

Here is a totally different game of tag. Just remember....BE NICE!
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! (This can be a memory of you with Gerry, or Gretchen, or you with both of us!)
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. Unless, of course, you don't want to paste it on your blog...that's okay too. Thanks!

We will miss Chris, Rachel & Allie

Chris, Rachel & Allie have been here for almost 3 weeks so Chris can add to the coffers for dental school. We have had a great time and after this weekend at Mt Hood they are back in the sky to Ann Arbor.

Today Rachel showed me how to add photos to my blog and we are trying other technical skills. I hope to make this a nice record with some practice.

Begining this blog

I have Rachel here helping me begin this blog for our mission. I have been packing and getting ready and it is great to get to start recording all this because we are so excited! The schedule is that on the 30th of this month we leave for the MTC in Provo. We are to report there on Monday, 1 Sept 2008 @ 12:30PM. We stay there until Friday, September 5 @ 5:00Pm.. The mission President asked that we arrive at the mission home on September 10th for dinner and to stay the night. That coincides with another couple's arrival that he wishes us to meet. This gives us a few extra days. We plan to stop in Chicago to see Greg & Jill (one of our son's and his wife) and then go on to Lansing. But we have excess time. We haven't decided what we will do with that.

Another consideration is Gerry's brother, Elmer. He is dying up in Everett and we are determined to be available for his funeral. We leave it in HF's hands.

This is Alyanna. She is a great helper when you want to be on the computer.
